Road Work Will Result In Lane Closures In New London

The work, which will include milling and resurfacing, will extend to the end of July.

NEW LONDON, CT — The state Department of Transportation has announced that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 1 in Waterford and New London.

The project will begin Wednesday evening and end July 30.

Work to be done includes milling and resurfacing a 1.55-mile segment of Route 1 from Route 156 (Rope Ferry Road) in Waterford to Service Route 641 (Jefferson Avenue) in New London.

Drivers can expect lane closures on Route 1 from Route 156 in Waterford to Service Route 641 in New London.

The night work schedule will be 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday evenings through Friday mornings.
