Obituary: Russell P Burton, 80, of New London
He retired from the U.S. Navy and from the U.S. Navy Sub Base as a Boiler Plant Supervisor. He also worked as a longshoreman.
Russell P. Burton, 80, of New London. Beloved husband of the late Leona (Shirvington) Burton. Entered into eternal rest on Tuesday January 6, 2015 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. He was born Richmond KY the son of the late Ottie B. and Geneva (Clark) Burton. He retired from the US Navy and from the US Navy Sub Base as a Boiler Plant Supervisor, he also worked as a longshoreman. He was a member of Richmond Pred. Baptist Church in Richmond, KY and a member of Jepthah Lodge # 11, F & AM, PH. of New London, CT. He leaves to cherish his memory a brother James Burton (Lucille), Three sisters Mary Covington, Nannie Johnson (John), Rosie Estelle (Eugene), special friends Katherine Dodd, William Jackson, Rochelle Jackson and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday at 12 noon at the Lester Gee Funeral Home 108 Blinman St. New London, CT Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
