NEW LONDON, CT — The City Council approved a scaled-back version of a "sanctuary city resolution" Monday, the New London Day reported. The council also tabled a vote on a pay as you throw trash program to a later date.
According to the Day, the resolution, which highlights the civil rights and existing protections of New London's undocumented immigrant population, was an amended version of one brought before the city by the activist group People Power. The resolution passed by a 5-2 vote.
