Senator Reads To Students On Read Across America Day
In celebration of Read Across America Day, State Senator Paul Formica read to a group of students.

NEW LONDON — In celebration of Read Across America Day, State Senator Paul Formica (Republican-East Lyme) read to a group of students at Winthrop STEM Elementary School in New London on Friday, March 2.
Formica volunteered to read in partnership with the United Way which organized volunteers across southeastern Connecticut to read in local schools and donate books to school libraries.
“These kids are so smart and Winthrop is such a wonderful school. We had so much fun reading on Dr. Suess’s birthday. I can’t wait to go back!" Formica said in a release. "Reading is an important step in helping children be successful and access opportunities throughout their entire lives. It is a constantly developing skill that builds upon what you have learned previously. Therefore, it is vital that literacy and reading comprehension are a priority for children of all ages. It was an honor to join United Way today in this effort to promote reading as a positive and fun experience.”
