Showers and Thunderstorms Possible in New London's Forecast

The back-to-work weather forecast calls for sunny weather on Monday and temps in the low- to mid-80s across Connecticut.
On Tuesday, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms for the entire state during the day. For New Haven, Middlesex, Fairfield County, and New London counties, showers and thunderstorms could begin after 9 a.m. The chance for stormy weather is about 30 to 50 percent, depending on where you live.

More storms are possible on Wednesday for all of Connecticut, beginning in the afternoon and continuing into the evening. Heavy rain may fall in some areas.

On Wednesday, a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” has already been issued for Fairfield County for after and evening showers and thunderstorms that could produce heavy rain and flash flooding, the National Weather Service writes.

- Monday: Mostly sunny, with a steady temperature around 78. South wind 6 to 8 mph.
- Monday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
- Tuesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 9am. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
- Wednesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
- Wednesday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 1am, then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
- Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 80.
- Thursday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 79.
- Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.
