Mayor Passero said the State Bond Commission has approved funding for two New London projects.

NEW LONDON, CT – Mayor Michael E. Passero announced Friday that the State Bond Commission approved funding for two projects for improvements to Bartlett Park and development of a Regional Public Safety Answering Point between New London and Waterford.
“We are working diligently to assist our tax payers by finding opportunities and other funding sources to enhance services and repair and replace infrastructure around our dynamic city," Passero said in a release. "We truly appreciate the partnerships we have established in the Governor’s Office and the support we have received from the State Commissioners of Transportation, Corrections, Port Authority and State Emergency Management. It is those and our local partnerships that are providing additional resources to our city."
According to a news release, the Bartlett Park project, located adjacent to the Broad Street Fire Station, was approved for $167,925, based the bidding process. Bartlett Park is a popular and highly used 1.5 acres recreation area, and the proposed improvements will reconstruct basketball courts, replace deteriorated fencing and sidewalks, remove unsightly vegetation and allow for ADA seating, tables and walkways for open access.

The Regional Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) between the New London and Waterford was approved for $758,133. The PSAP will enhance the capabilities of each agency’s current communication centers by upgrading New London’s Computer Aided Dispatch and Standardized Report Management Systems through the TriTech Inform CAD System software licensing and implementation services.
This will provide full interoperability between New London and Waterford and allow for combined dispatching operations and it will support their reliability for mutual-aid for law enforcement operations, fire suppression, and emergency medical responses.
