Swimming Advisory Issued For New London Beach

A swimming advisory has been issued for a New London beach by the Ledge Light Health District.

NEW LONDON, CT — The Ledge Light Health District has issued a swimming advisory for Green Harbor Beach in New London. Swimming is discouraged until further notice, according to a statement from the district.

The swimming advisories and/or closures in all other areas within the Ledge Light Health District have been lifted.

Rain dumped by Tropical Storm Elsa resulted in the closure of five beaches earlier this week.

In Southeastern Connecticut, the Ledge Light Health District conducted a bathing water sampling Monday. The following beaches had sample results exceeding the bacterial action levels set by the State of Connecticut, but were found to be below action levels following re-testing on Wednesday:
