Syrian Family Moves Into New London House Provided by Church

Church officials said the need for refugee houses has not diminished despite recent actions by the Trump administration.

NEW LONDON, CT - A New London church welcomed a Syrian family into their new American home on Wednesday, The Day reported.

The six-member family of refugees come from the war-ravaged country of Syria, according to The Day. They have moved into a home on Jay Street that was purchased by the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church to house refugees.

The home is meant to provide what is referred to as a “soft landing” for refugee families until a permanent place of residence can be found, The Day reported. Church officials said the need for refugee houses has not diminished despite recent actions by the Trump administration.
