Trump Nominates Judge Jongbloed To Federal Bench
Pres. Trump announced a slate of judicial nominees and New London Superior Court Judge Barbara Bailey Jongbloed of Madison was among them.
WASHINGTON, DC—Pres. Donald Trump Wednesday announced a slate of judicial nominees headed for a federal bench. And among those named are two Connecticut judges, William Nardini and Superior Court Judge Barbara Bailey Jongbloed, per an announcement from The White House.
Jongbloed, 57, of Madison, was nominated as a federal judge in the U.S. District Court of Connecticut.
The announcement from the White House included Jongbloed's background as qualifications for the nomination.

Before taking the bench in 2000 as a New London District Superior Court justice, Judge Jongbloed served as an Assistant United States Attorney and Chief of the Criminal Division in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.
Following graduation from the New York University School of Law where she earned her J.D., judge Jongbloed served as a law clerk to Chief Judge T.F. Gilroy Daly of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.

Jongbloed earned her B.A., cum laude, from Lawrence University.
She was nominated to the seat vacated by Judge Alvin W. Thompson.
