Six kids felt some form of electrical shock when riding the Scrambler close to 2 p.m. at Ocean Beach Park, according to a release. The Connecticut State Police and New London police and fire departments were called to investigate the situation, while the victims were transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment.

One child reportedly touched a nearby fence and suffered minor burns and red marks, according to a release. All rides were shut down until the cause of the shock was determined, and reports had originally linked the incident to rain storms earlier in the day.
State Police revealed that the four children included two 10-year old boys, as well as two girls aged 7 and 4. The Park has re-opened for business after detectives re-inspected the entire park to ensure all safety standards were adhered to.
