Winner Declared In New London Special Election
A winner has been declared in the 39th District House of Representatives race.
NEW LONDON, CT - Democrat Anthony Nolan has been declared the winner of the 39th District House of Representatives special election.
"I am honored and humbled by the support I have received from the voters of New London today," Nolan said in a social media post. "This campaign has given me an opportunity to have many conversations about the issues and the struggles the people of New London are facing. I will bring these concerns to Hartford, and I promise your voices will be heard."
Other candidates in the race included Jason Catala, Republican and Independent party candidate Kat Goulart, and New London Green Party candidate Mirna Martinez.

Nolan garnered 963 votes compared to Martinez’s 535 votes, Goulart’s 276 votes and Catala’s 102, according to an unofficial tally from The Day.
Chris Soto resigned the seat to take a job as legislative affairs director for Gov. Ned Lamont's administration.

Nolan, 51, is a four-term city councilor and policeman.
