Woman Struck, Killed By Amtrak Train Identified: Report
A woman who was hit by an Amtrak train Friday has been identified.

NEW LONDON, CT — A woman hit and killed by a train in New London was identified as Saige Gangwisch, 26, according to The New London Day. Her last known address was in Wallingford but she was homeless.
Gangwisch was struck shortly before 10 a.m. Friday near the railroad bridge that connects the Thames River between Groton and New London.
It's unclear why she was on the tracks.

The train, which was traveling from Boston to Roanoke, VA, was stopped on the tracks for several hours during the investigation, according to The New London Day.
No injuries were reported to the 425 people onboard the train, according to FOX 61. Amtrak Northeast tweeted the following on Friday: "Train 171 is currently stopped east of New London (NLC) due to a trespasser incident. We will provide an update as more information becomes available."
