Woman Walking Dog Victim of Possible Hit-And-Run: New London Police

She was knocked down to the ground while walking her dog on Montauk Avenue.

The New London Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of an injured female in the northbound lane of Montauk Ave near Alger Place, at approximately 9:41 p.m. Wednesday, May 20.

“Upon investigation, it appears that the female was walking her dog on Montauk Ave when she was possibly struck by some type of vehicle, causing her to be knocked to the ground,” Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said in a press release.

The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries, he said.

“The vehicle involved may be blue in color with possible fresh damage from the accident,” Reichard said.
