Accountant Defrauded Victims Of Thousands In New Milford: Police
An accountant is accused of stealing a total of $45,000 from two clients, police said. He is under investigation for other complaints.
NEW MILFORD, CT — A man offering bookkeeping and tax services is accused of duping victims out of thousands of dollars, according to New Milford police.
Carl Benjamin Anderson of Anderson Accounting and Finance LLC was arrested on a warrant Jan. 25 and charged with first-degree larceny, police said. In this case, he defrauded a small business owner out of $20,000.
Anderson was arrested just a few weeks earlier in connection with an unrelated victim. He was charged with first-degree larceny in that case as well.

Anderson was charged in that case with stealing $25,000 from a client. He was arrested Dec. 22 on a warrant by New Milford police.
New Milford police said in a statement that they are "actively investigating additional complaints made against Anderson and his firm Anderson Accounting and Finance."

He was released on $40,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Torrington Superior Court on Feb. 5.
