According to police, the investigation is in its early stages.

Police are not releasing the employee’s name or title, or details about the communications due to the ongoing nature of their probe, police said.

“The New Milford Police Department Detective Bureau is conducting a thorough investigation into the allegations and will continue to follow all available leads,” police said.

Police deferred questions about the person’s employment status to the Board of Education. School officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.

Anyone with information relevant to the police investigation is asked to contact Det. Dru Sin at 860-355-3133.
