Housatonic Habitat for Humanity will hold a home dedication ceremony at 1pm on Sunday, October 16th (rain date 10/23) for its three newest homeowners. The ceremony will take place on the New Milford Green to congratulate Wayne, Jaime, Yvonne and their families. The three New Milford homes were renovated by Habitat’s Construction and Brush with Kindness volunteers over the past several months. Each new Habitat homeowner has completed 250 sweat-equity hours as part of the homeownership program, which helps local families achieve their dreams of homeownership. Financial literacy classes were also a requirement to help the homeowners succeed.
Local officials, supporters, Habitat volunteers, and family and friends are invited to attend the event. Those who wish to volunteer or learn more about Housatonic Habitat are also invited to attend.
Housatonic Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of qualified working families by promoting financial stability and self-sufficiency through ownership of affordable homes. This year marks Housatonic Habitat for Humanity’s 30th anniversary of bringing people from all walks of life together to build and repair homes, communities and hope.
