Muse Squad Brings Whimsy and Fantasy to New Milford in New Creative Writing Course
The New Milford Chapter of Muse Squad is proud to announce a sweet surprise for young, aspiring writers based on a classic Roald Dahl novel!
The New Milford Chapter of Muse Squad is proud to announce a sweet surprise for young, aspiring writers: We will be offering a new course titled “The Factory” inspired by Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory begins with Mr. Willy Wonka, the owner of the greatest factory in the world. He hides five Golden Tickets inside his famous Wonka chocolate bars giving those who find them the opportunity to tour his famous, secretive factory.
Charlie Bucket, a poor and kind-hearted boy who lives with his parents and all four of his grandparents, emerges as one of the five winners. This unexpected adventure truly transforms Charlie throughout the book, taking him on a journey full of imagination and wonder. And just like Charlie’s adventure, young writers will be encouraged to discover where their imaginations can take them.

The 10-week course will be led by Ms. Kristy DiPietro. Ms. Kristy’s lifelong love of writing, along with her enthusiasm for teaching, has been instrumental in bringing our creative writing experiences to local children and teens. She can’t wait to begin on another literary journey this fall!
Don’t let this fantastical journey pass you by! Come along with us at the John Pettibone Community Center, 2 Pickett District Road New Milford, CT 06776. We invite participants of all ages to join. We will offer two sections of “The Factory” course. The first will be for those ages 8-12 years old, while the second will be for teens 13 and up.

Ages 8 - 12: Fridays from October 2nd - December 18th, 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Teens 13+: Thursdays from October 1st - December 17th, 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Step through the fantastical doors of “The Factory” and explore the many undiscovered wonders that lie ahead. Whether you have dreams of becoming a novelist, or simply love reading and writing, “The Factory” offers students a place to understand their capabilities as a writer on a deeper level.
