New Milford Awarded $10,000 "Bright Idea" Grant

The Town of New Milford is very pleased to announce that the Town has been awarded a “Bright Idea” Grant of $10,000 from Energize Connecticut’s Clean Energy Communities Program. The Town will use the grant to fund the upgrade the lighting at the New Milford Police Department to energy efficient LEDs. The upgrade is estimated to save 56,857 kWh annually and reduce the Town’s yearly energy costs by approximately $9,300.

Energize Connecticut’s Clean Energy Communities Program was designed to encourage Connecticut towns and cities to reduce their energy consumption through energy efficiency and to invest in clean, renewable energy sources. Bright Idea Grants are earned through the accumulation of 100 points, which are awarded for participation in Energize Connecticut’s energy-saving programs administered by Eversource.
