New Milford Finance Board Proposes $101.6 Million Budget

The new budget returns some funds to schools.

NEW MILFORD, CT --- The Board of Finance added an extra $702,000 to the town budget proposal going to voters, after there was an outcry at a public meeting earlier this week. The latest proposal includes an extra $500,000 for the school budget beyond the level budgeting that had been originally proposed, but that is still less than the $1.4 million more the schools had requested.

The total 2018-19 budget now includes $63.3 million for the schools and $38.3 million for the town. The additional $702,000 will be taken from the undesignated fund. A date for a public referendum has not been set. See the News-Times for more.
