New Milford HS Grapples With Another Student Threat

This one involved a claim of a weapon on campus.

NEW MILFORD, CT — A New Milford High School student allegedly told a staff member that they had a weapon with them on Tuesday morning, an incident that led to the student's arrest, according to a post on New Milford police Facebook page.

After an investigation, police determined that the student "did not possess a weapon on school grounds nor did the student have access to the alleged weapon."

Additional details about the exact nature of the threat and what weapon the student allegedly claimed to have were not disclosed, but the incident marks the second unsettling occurrence at the school this week. On Monday, a student was arrested after allegedly setting fire to bathrooms at the facility. No injuries were reported.
