New Milford in May, 2018: What Happened Around the Storms

Budgets, classic cars, and Domino's Pizza were just a few of the distractions.

NEW MILFORD, CT -- Along with some pretty miserable weather, May brought the rather extraordinary story of the man sentenced to 10 years in prison and 10 years of special parole for entering the New Milford home of his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend carrying a knife, duct tape, zip ties and rope. He had to be tasered by police after he assaulted an officer.

In May, New Milford welcomed a Master Chef Camp to the area, as well as a Domino's pizza restaurant. The town welcomed back the fins and chrome of Paradice Classic Cruisers.

Voters journeyed to the budget ballot box in May to reject a combined $101.6 million budget for the town and school, which is about $583,000 more than the current year. The Town Council took another stab it, and voters will have their say about the latest, $101.5 million budget, in a referendum set for June 5.
