Quinnipiac University Professor Awarded Pegasus Pride Award

Aileen Dever, of New Milford, professor of modern languages at Quinnipiac University, was recently awarded the Pegasus Pride Award.

From Quinnipiac University: Aileen Dever, of New Milford, professor of modern languages at Quinnipiac University, was recently awarded the Pegasus Pride Award at the 48th annual fall conference of the Connecticut Council of Language Teachers.

The Pegasus Pride Award is given to professors in the field of language who exhibit professionalism, respect for cultural differences, involvement or interest in professional growth within the language field, dedication to students and enthusiasm for language and teaching. The recipient also underscores the importance and promotes the development of foreign language skills among students.

"I am deeply honored at receiving this award from the Connecticut Council of Language Teachers that so importantly promotes learning world languages and about other cultures," said Dever.

Dever, who joined the Quinnipiac faculty in 1999, has a doctorate. in Hispanic literature from the University of Connecticut. She received her bachelor’s in English, secondary education from Western Connecticut State University and a master’s degree in Spanish from Middlebury College.
