NEWTOWN, CT — Four vacant buildings at the sprawling former psychiatric hospital in Newtown are slated to be torn down over the next decade, reported the News-Times.

The nearly 200-acre Fairfield Hills complex now houses Newtown's municipal buildings and a community center. But several of the former hospital structures sit unused, and are falling into disrepair.

Tearing down the four buildings — Cochran House, Norwalk Hall, Plymouth Hall and Stamford Hall — is estimated to cost more than $10 million.
