Alex Jones' Lawyer Withdraws From Sandy Hook Lawsuit
Attorney Norm Pattis filed a court motion to no longer represent Alex Jones in a lawsuit filed by families of Newtown shooting victims.
NEWTOWN, CT — Attorney Norm Pattis has filed paperwork to withdraw from representing Alex Jones and Infowars in civil cases filed by family members of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims.
Pattis filed the paperwork May 4. Pattis represented Jones, Infowars, and related companies in the defamation lawsuit.
The most prominent lawsuit, Lafferty, Erica Et Al v. Jones, Alex Emric Et Al was filed two years ago. The lawsuit alleges that Jones insisted the shooting was a "false flag" operation and parents were "crisis actors." Several family members have been subject to death threats and other extreme harassment after the 2012 shooting which claimed the lives of 20 children and six educators.

Since then the case has had dozens of motions along with a number of odd turns. One of the strangest came in June 2019 during the discovery process where thousands of Infowars emails were turned over to plaintiffs and about a dozen of them contained child pornography images. Pattis at the time said that the images were inadvertently sent as part of a batch of 57,000 requested emails and that law enforcement regarded Jones as a victim.
Jones later went on an on-air rant about the situation and said someone tried to set him up.

Lawyers with Koskoff Koskoff and Bieder firm representing the families took Jones' statements as threats and asked court to intervene
At one point during the broadcast Jones pounded on a picture of lawyer Chris Mattei who is affiliated with the Koskoff firm.
The on-air tirade led to Jones being sanctioned by a state Superior Court judge. The sanction was appealed to the state Supreme Court in September, but a ruling hasn't been issued yet.
