• Borough Board Of Burgesses Discusses Trees, Reappointments, More (newtownbee.com) — Newtown Borough leaders are weighing a new ad hoc committee to better manage Main Street trees, while also scrambling to find a new spot for community banners now that the railroad bridge and Queen Street options are off the table. At their August 11 meeting, burgesses also accepted key clerk and treasurer appointments, debated tougher zoning enforcement for 69 Main Street, and approved small appropriations for legal fees and Meeting House repairs.
