Ben’s Lighthouse is sponsoring a free afterschool program at the Newtown Middle School for 7th & 8th grade students. We are offering the opportunity for students to tell their story – favorite memories and proudest achievements. We will be talking about the most important life lessons learned and sharing who has been the biggest influence on their lives. Is your child interested in interviewing, writing and publishing? Our goal will be to create and publish a paperback book with all of our shared stories. This program aims to connect middle school youth to their peers and community volunteers who will help to facilitate this program. Through interviewing, program participants will discover how personal history changes. Participants will be encouraged to connect the key differences between people and to see the common shared experiences of life and change. The program is sponsored by Ben’s Lighthouse.
