Car Flips After 14-Year-Old Driver Hits Pole In Newtown: Police

Two teens were hurt after the car struck a utility pole and overturned in Newtown, police said.

NEWTOWN, CT — Two juveniles were hurt after a car driven by a 14-year-old struck a utility pole and flipped onto its side in Newtown, police said.

The crash was reported on April 30 at about 11:54 a.m. on Dodgingtown Road near Cemetery Road.

Police said a white Honda went off the westbound shoulder, struck a utility pole near Cemetery Road and came to rest on its side.

The occupants were able to get out of the vehicle and were transported to Danbury Hospital with minor injuries, according to police.

Police identified the operator as a 14-year-old juvenile and said a second juvenile was seated in the front passenger seat.

Dodgingtown Road remained closed for several hours due to utility pole damage.

The incident is still under investigation and enforcement action is pending, police said.
