In addition to a huge variety of pick-your-own apples, Blue Jay is famous for its deliciously naughty apple cider doughnuts. There aren't many tastes that compare to eating a still-warm doughnut sweetened with cider and finished with a delightfully sticky dusting of cinnamon sugar.
Pair that with a bright orange pumpkin and a sack full of apples, and you've pretty much satisfied every member of your family.

The shop at the orchard also offers fresh pies and specialty breads, as well as a variety of canned goods, such as apricot apple sauce and hot pepper jelly. And don't miss the refrigerated case of apple cider.
Blue Jay Orchards is located at 125 Plumtrees Road in Bethel, 203-748-0119. The orchard is open daily from 9am - 6pm during apple season, with the last pick-your-own bag at 5pm. Note: Call ahead to learn the picking varieties and conditions.
