— This small restaurant serves up New American cuisine. The understated dining room with its white-clad tables welcomes mostly adults, although a few lucky children were dining when we visited.
As with many of the restaurants in Woodbury, the menu boasts locally grown produce and regionally sourced meats and other ingredients. The creative team in the kitchen turns out delicious dishes, such as Seared Tuna with Spinach, Gnocchi & Eggplant Caponata ($27); Gnocchi with House Smoked Chicken, Sundried Tomatoes & Basil Cream ($24); and sides such as Creamed Sweet Summer Corn with Bacon & Herbs ($9).
Restaurants have a tendency to serve dessert that seems more of an afterthought. But that's not the case at John's. The dessert menu may be brief, but only because it's all house-made. Don't miss the profiteroles.
