— This little spot tucked off of Federal Road in Brookfield is one of the friendliest around for breakfast. And they must be doing something right, because the restaurant has been pleasing hungry patrons for more than 30 years.

Rickyl's has tables, booths and counter service in its welcoming wood-paneled dining area. The menu offers standard breakfast fare, including omelets, pancakes, eggs Benedict and French toast, with daily specials, such as Apple Streusel French Toast. Lunch platters and sandwiches also are available.

The restaurant only takes cash and closes at 1pm on the weekends, so get in early for seat and enjoy the homestyle atmosphere. Arriving late on a weekend morning often means you must wait for a table.
