— This spot is easy to miss on busy Route 6 in Bethel. Village Pizzeria is a small spot that does most of its business as takeout, although there are a few tables. The restaurant was run by the Gillotti family for more than 30 years, and although there is a new owner, the family still works at the pizzeria a couple days a week.
The pizzeria still specializes in the same freshly made New York-style pizza. Standard toppings are available on small to extra large pizzas. Judging by the abundance of people in and out of the shop on any given night, it's a favorite with the locals. Also available are hot grinders, cold cut sandwiches and simple garden salads, as well as soft drinks.
Village Pizzeria is located at 25 Stony Hill Road in Bethel, 203-792-5355. Hours are Mon - Sat, 11am - 9pm; Sun, noon - 9pm.
