Get ready to discover the incredible world of insects at the sanctuary’s Bug Bonanza! Enjoy a hands-on afternoon of exploration and up-close encounters with some of nature’s smallest (and most fascinating) creatures.
Families will enjoy live insect encounters with ambassador insects from Riverside Reptiles, create imaginative bug-inspired nature crafts, and dive into the hidden world beneath the pond’s surface in our Sanctuary Discovery Den: The Secret Lives of Pond Bugs.
Meet aquatic insects that row through water, breathe through snorkels, and carry air bubbles like tiny scuba tanks. Guests will dip for real specimens, explore authentic pond muck, and use digital microscopes to get face-to-face with these remarkably adapted neighbors living just below the surface.
From curious crawlers to underwater wonders, Bug Bonanza invites children and adults alike to see the natural world through a new lens of appreciation.
