Connecticut Womens Hoops is an adult women's basketball league in Connecticut, the only to operate year round, offering three seasons a year - Spring, Summer and Fall. We're currently in the middle of our Summer Season, with twelve teams. Many people ask why I founded this organization. And the answer is simple - there are few opportunities for women over the age of eighteen to continue playing basketball at a high level. We have players in the league that played in high school all the way up to players who have professional experience overseas. I wanted to create a league that fostered a community like environment but also supported the competitiveness of women's athletics. Now three seasons in, we have demonstrated consistent growth and a need for the league. In the Summer 2024 season, our debut season, we had 6 teams. In the Fall 2024 season, we had 9 teams. In the Spring 2025 season, we had 10 teams, and now in the Summer 2025 season, we have 12 teams.
A little bit about my background: I graduated from Fairfield University in 2022, with a business degree, and previously attended Newtown High School, where I graduated in 2019. Upon graduating, I began working at Travelers Insurance, where I am a Public D&O Underwriter, and founder of Maddie Brock Fit, LLC, my personal training side business. I started playing pickup basketball in 2022, after COVID, and rediscovered my love for the game. I played as a kid growing up, and always enjoyed watching UCONN on my television. I quickly learned that there were no leagues in the area, so the idea came to me, just do it yourself.
We're starting to prepare for our Fall 2025 Season, and one of the biggest hurdles for the league is the expenses side. Running basketball leagues is expensive - you have your court rental fees, your referee fees, your jersey fees, and then the clock and stats person fees. All of these fees add up. We never want our league to not to accessible to someone due to the costs of dues. That's where our community comes in. We're looking to team up with local and national businesses to support the growth of community and women's sports through CT Womens Hoops. It's a unique opportunity to get some brand exposure, while supporting one of the only women's basketball leagues in the state. We have packages ranging from $200-$2000.
