Driver Killed In 1-Car Crash In Newtown: Police
The fatal crash occurred Tuesday afternoon on Huntingtown Road, according to authorities.
NEWTOWN, CT — A 22-year-old Waterford man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a one-car crash in the 200 block of Huntingtown Road in Newtown, according to police.
Bert Schovanec was driving his 1996 Acura Integra RS northbound at about 4:15 p.m. on Huntingtown Road when the car veered off the right side of the road and crashed into a tree on the driver's side, police said.
Newtown emergency medical technicians and Botsford firefighters responded to the crash, but Schovanec was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation, and authorities ask that anyone with information about it contact the Newtown Police Department at 203-426-5841.
