Sandy Hook Tree Lighting

Please join all the Sandy Hook Center business and property owners on Saturday, December 3, 2011 as we kick off the Holiday Season by lighting the Christmas Tree in the center of our beautiful downtown Sandy Hook.  Festivities will begin at 4:00, pause at 6:30 for the lighting of the tree and continue throughout the evening with area shops and restaurants open for business. Visitors are invited to stroll down the sidewalks of the festively decorated village and visit the participating shops for refreshments, store discounts, raffles, free samples and more. Please bring a donation for FAITH Food Pantry to any participating business. Other drop-off locations include the Senior Center and the fire truck in front of PJ’s Laundromat. 

There will be karaoke, sponsored by Graceful Planet, at the Christmas Tree, followed by the Middle School Carolers sponsored by Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor, and Eclipse, of Suzuki Studio, will be performing live at Porco Karate Studio. There will be more musical entertainment at Demitasse Café and Ice Cream Heaven. Wesley Learning Center will be handing out jingle bell bracelets, make sure you visit The Iron Bridge at 100 Church Hill to enter their free raffle for two children’s bikes, and The Toy Tree to pick up your free 3-D glasses for spectacular tree viewing. CT Counselors, Fun Kuts, Genesis Hair Studio, Sandy Hook Hair Company, St. John’s Church, Katherine’s Kitchen, and Figs. The Villa Restaurant is offering a special “kids eat free” from their kids menu. In addition, several of the shops will be holding sales and specials during the event.  

And of course Santa Claus will be making an appearance throughout the night! 

The Sandy Hook Fire Department will provide street lighting to ensure pedestrian safety and to assist with traffic. We hope this event will make your Holiday’s brighter, as we take this opportunity to say thank you for your patronage and for supporting your local Sandy Hook businesses.
