Groups Rally at Newtown National Shooting Sports Foundation HQ
Protesters and counter protesters demonstrated at the group's Newtown headquarters Monday.

Groups of protesters and counter protesters rallied at the National Shooting Sports Foundation headquarters as the organization prepared its trade show in Las Vegas.
The Newtown Action Alliance demonstrated at the NSSF headquarters in Newtown and called for support of President Barack Obama’s executive actions on gun control, according to the News-Times.
It protested against the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s “irresponsible marketing and lobbying practices,” according to the Action Alliance Facebook page.

Connecticut Against Gun Violence, the Enough Campaign, the Greenwich Council Against Gun Violence and the Southwestern Connecticut chapter of the Brady Campaign also participated in the demonstration.

Counter protesters arrived beforehand with pro-gun right signs.
NSSF’s annual Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show is the country’s largest trade show for firearms and other hunting and outdoor gear, according to the NSSF. The show is expected to attract about 60,000 industry professionals over four days.
“Despite the political challenges being mounted against our industry, it is gratifying to see the American people supportive of firearms ownership and to see new and diverse customers taking their first shots and enjoying our sports,” said NSSF President and CEO Steve Sanetti in a statement.
