Hundreds Attend Newtown Gun Violence Awareness Rally
Organizers chose orange as the rally color; something hunters wear to avoid being shot in the woods.

NEWTOWN, CT- Hundreds turned out in orange attire for a gun violence awareness rally in Newtown Thursday.
Thursday was National Gun Violence Awareness Day, according to the Hartford Courant. Orange was chosen because hunters often wear it in the woods to avoid being shot at.
Nicole Hockley, mother of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victim Dylan Hockley said that no one expects gun violence to affect them, but unfortunately people are more likely than not to be affected.
