Stamford Man Arrested for Threatening Sandy Hook School on First Day: PD

The man called in mid-August to find out when the first day of school would be and then proceeded to make a threat.

NEWTOWN, CT—A man was arrested after making a threatening phone call to Sandy Hook school regarding its first day, according to police.

Police received information about a threatening call on Aug. 15. A man called the main office of the Sandy Hook school and asked when the first day of school was and then made a threat, according to police.

The first day of school was Aug. 29.

Police identified the call as originating from a nearby town. School Resource Officer William Chapman's investigation led him a national mobile phone company outside of Connecticut and then to a company in Canada.

Pierre Beauvil, 28, of Stamford was identified as the caller.

Beauvil was arrested Sept. 2 around 2 p.m. He was charged with breach of peace, second-degree harassment and first-degree threatening.

He may have made numerous other school threats, police said.
