WEST HAVEN, CT — A 49-year-old Ansonia man was arrested for allegedly being naked on Sea Bluff Beach near the Sandy Hook Playground on Monday, according to West Haven Police.
Police responded to Sea Bluff Beach at about 4:30 p.m. after residents complained that a man was naked on the beach, adjacent to the Sandy Hook Playground.
Police located David Gerrish, of Clifton Street in Ansonia, in his vehicle backed into the lot facing the playground.
Gerrish allegedly alluded to officers that he may have been naked for a short period of time, police said.
Gerrish was charged with public indecency and breach of peace. He was held on bond, according to police.
The playground is one of 26 “Where Angels Play” playgrounds in honor of the Sandy Hook shooting victims and was built in memory of Charlotte Bacon.
