Newtown Arts Festival Creates Celebration of Arts in All Mediums
The weekend-long event was jam packed with artists, musicians, dancers, poets and writers, and had many interactive activities to enjoy.

Photographers, painters, authors, hula hoopers, sculptors, musicians, crafters and artists galore converged upon the Fairfield Hills campus last weekend to exhibit their work, perform and participate in one of the area’s largest arts festivals.
The Newtown Arts Festival had something for everyone. From parrots to painting, from elephant ears to stilt walkers, country dancers and rockers, attendees could see, hear, taste, feel and smell the smorgasbord of creations that made up the weekend-long event.
This is the third year the Newtown Arts Commission (NAC) has presented the festival. Organizer and NAC secretary Robert Rabinowitz said it keeps getting bigger and better each year.

“We are thrilled with the turnout. It’s amazing. We will see about five thousand people this weekend and we only charged $5 dollars to make it affordable for everyone,” he said.
The funds raised will go to grant scholarships for local students and give away awards and grants all year, Rabinowitz said.
