Newtown Home Invasion Suspect Accused of Domestic Violence
Monroe Police are working to secure a warrant for the man.

A Newtown man accused of committing an armed home invasion is the suspect in an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred in Monroe early Sunday morning.
According to police, a Kettle Creek Lane resident called Monroe police just before 1 a.m. after she heard loud screaming outside her home. The resident found a woman in front of her home calling for help whom she took inside, police said.
Police said the woman was a victim of domestic violence. She told police that she and her boyfriend had left a party in Shelton and while they were going to his home in Newtown, she realized he was intoxicated. Police said the man, identified as 27-year-old Michael Dziubina, made a wrong turn on Kettle Creek Lane when the victim told him to stop the car so she could get out.

Dziubina allegedly became angry, walked around the car and pulled the victim from out of the car by her neck and threw her to the ground. Police said he then sped off.
Dziubina was arrested by the Newtown Police Department for a home invasion. Monroe police arrested Dziubina at his parent’s home in Shelton and charged him with first-degree unlawful restraint and third-degree assault.

He was given a $75,000 bond and a court date of Dec. 8.
