Newtown Man Arrested After DUI Head-on Crash: PD
The other driver was injured and the suspect fled the scene, police said.

NEWTOWN, CT- A Newtown man was arrested after he allegedly crossed the double yellow line and struck another vehicle head-on while intoxicated.
Police responded to Pole Bridge Road on March 3 shortly before 9 a.m. The vehicle that crossed the line fled the scene, police said. The operator of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The suspected fleeing vehicle was stopped by State Police on I-84.

Robert Cherry, 35, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, evading responsibility, operating with a suspended license or registration and failure to keep right on a curve.
