Newtown Man Charged with Shoplifting from Target in Orange
Orange police say the man allegedly stole energy drinks and other items.

Orange police officers say they responded to the Target store last week for a reported shoplifting incident.
Officers learned that Ross Alpert, 31, of Middletown Road in Newtown allegedly took $195.47 worth of energy drinks and household merchandise from the shelves and left the store without attempting to pay, police said.
Store security stopped him and detained him for police.

He is charged with sixth-degree larceny and is released on a promise to appear in Superior Court, Derby on Sept. 30.
