Newtown PD Briefs: Horse Guard Sabres Stolen, Accident Reports

Sabres Stolen

The Second Company Governors Horse Guard is seeking two decorative sabres that were reportedly stolen from a storage building at their Wildlife Drive location.

The sabres were taken sometime between Oct. 30 and Nov. 7. They have sentimental value to the horse guard.

Each sabre is inscribed on the blade with the words “Second Company Governors Horse Guard”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Newtown Police.

Accidents

• A two-vehicle accident on Hawleyville Road sent one person to the hospital Nov. 7. A driver was cited for making a restricted turn.
• A vehicle struck a utility pole near 277 South Main Street after sliding while slowing for traffic. The driver was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license and traveling too fast for conditions.
