Newtown Police Chase Down Copper Thieves: Report
The men were charged with burglary, larceny and criminal mischief, among other crimes.

NEWTOWN, CT — Police arrested two men they say were stealing copper.
On Wednesday evening, Newtown police investigated a report of two men stealing copper from inside a vacant building on the property of Fairfield Hills.
Upon their arrival, police surrounded the building. Officers quickly apprehended one of the men, but the other suspect fled prior to their arrival, according to the police report.

The second suspect was shortly thereafter apprehended with the help of Shelton Police, who were waiting for him at his residence.
Police identified the men as John Rodia, 49, and John Marlin, 53, both of Shelton.

Both suspects were released after posting bond.
