Newtown Police Make 3 DUI Arrests in Past Week

One arrestee was found in St. Rose Cemetery.

DUI in Parking Lot

Lauren Jones, 26, of Newtown was arrested August 19 after a citizen called police and said there was a possible DUI driver in a parking lot on South Main Street around 7:17 p.m.

Police responded and found Jones. She was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Driver Crosses Yellow Line, Gets DUI

Police arrested Omar Silva-Cedillo, 40, of Danbury on August 21 after his vehicle crossed over the center double yellow line on Mount Pleasant Road, police said.

He was stopped at the intersection of Mount Pleasant Road and Blackman Road. He was charged with DUI, failure to drive right and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Drive charged with DUI in cemetery

Police pulled over a suspicious vehicle in the St. Rose Cemetery on August 22.

Police determined that Lucas Kaplan, 20, of Ridgefield was driving under the influence, according to police.

He was charged with DUI.
