From the American Cancer Society, Inc., Northeast Region: The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Newtown invites interested Community Members to the first Interest Meeting that is rescheduled to Monday, December 18th at 7:00PM at NYA Sports & Fitness, 4 Primrose St, Newtown, CT 06470. To RSVP please contact Grace.Scinto@cancer.org.
The meeting will include sharing engagement opportunities, a brief discussion on what is Relay For Life, exciting event updates, and how to sign up to volunteer the day of Relay or help plan the event. Event Leadership Team members and American Cancer Society Staff will be present in sharing fundraising progress, will take questions, and will share how cancer survivors and caregivers will be honored.
The Relay For Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action for lifesaving change. Relay For Life events are community events where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Teams participant in fundraising in the months leading up to the event.

The Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest fundraising event to fight every cancer in every community. Last year, over 275 people participated in the Newtown Relay For Life event and raised over $54,000.
