Newtown Theater Director Accused of Having Inappropriate Relations with Teens: Report

Multiple victims reportedly came forward with accusations against the director that dated back to 2011.

NEWTOWN, CT - A Newtown theater director is facing charges for having inappropriate sexual relations with teenagers, NBC CT reports citing police.

The investigation against Matthew Madden, 22, the theater director at Sabrina's Encore Productions began in November. A school resource officer began the investigation into an alleged inappropriate relationship with Madden and a juvenile.

According to NBC, an investigation revealed Madden would contact young female students through social media and on occasion the girls did allegedly have consensual sex with Madden, NBC reports, citing police.

Madden turned himself in March 17. He is facing three counts of enticing a minor, three counts of risk of injury to a minor and two counts of second degree sexual assault. He was released on a $100,000 bond and is expected to appear in court April 5.
