Newtown Voters Approve $132M Budget, All Capital Projects
$47.5 million was allocated to the town, and $85 million to the schools, representing a tax rate increase of 1.3 percent.
NEWTOWN, CT — Residents went to the polls Tuesday and approved a $132 million budget for the 2023-23 fiscal year.
$47.5 million was allocated to the town, and $85 million to the schools, representing a tax rate increase of 1.3 percent.
Voters also passed all three propositions on the ballot: $1.5 million to replace the roof on the Municipal Center, $1.2 million to replace the air treatment system at Newtown High School, and another $450,000 to upgrade the air treatment system at Newtown Middle School.
