Newtown Will Hold Candlelight Vigil, In Solidarity With Uvalde
The vigil is meant to show solidarity with the Uvalde, TX, community where a gunman killed 19 students and two teachers, and wounded 17 more
NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Interfaith Council and the Newtown Action Alliance will be hosting a candlelight vigil on Thursday at 6 p.m.
The vigil is meant to show solidarity with the Uvalde, TX, community where a gunman killed 19 students and two teachers, and wounded 17 others at an elementary school, according to state authorities.
The incident is eerily reminiscent of a similar gun violence episode in 2012 when 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
